Did your mom ever tell you not to make faces because it might get stuck that way? Well, your face clearly won't get stuck, but repeated skin contractions in the face are proven ways of developing certain wrinkles in the eyes and forehead.

It seems like the advice may not have been so bad after all. What are some of the other myths and truths about wrinkles?A common myth is that wrinkles can be prevented. Well, technically they can.

Are You Looking For Some Acne Solutions?

If you never move the muscles in the face and other parts of the body susceptible to wrinkles and you never go outside and receive exposure from the sun, it is true that you may actually be able to avoid wrinkles...at least for a while.

The simple fact is that you can never completely avoid or get rid of wrinkles they are a fact of life. What you can do is take measures to limit them and help to minimize their appearance.Another myth is that wrinkles can be permanently removed with some sort of "miracle cream.

How to Get Rid of Acne Scars

This is completely untrue, and in fact there is no way to completely get rid of wrinkles.Even surgical procedures will only limit the amount and size of wrinkles, but they don't get rid of them. Anti-aging skin creams can be very useful in maintaining healthy skin, but they aren't a miracle cure and no method on the market can get rid of wrinkles completely.

A big truth about wrinkles is that sun tanning can be a major factor over time. UV rays damage the skin and can lead to increased number and size of wrinkles, among many other problems that are even more serious.

Practices to Cure Cystic Acne

Sun tanning, whether through too much time spent unprotected in the sun or especially in tanning beds, is a sure-fire way of damaging your skin and leading to greater amounts of wrinkles in the future. As you plan out your own anti-aging fight against time, keep these little tidbits in mind.

How Does Acne Form?Contact with an oily substance such as mineral oil, vegetable oil, or petroleum is a potential cause of acne, as is the use of certain medication and steroids. However, acne is most often cause by the secretion of androgens. Acne is also aggravated by milk or dairy products, red meat and fast food. Androgens are sex hormones that are initially secreted at the onset of puberty.

They are male hormones but they are secreted by females as well.Androgens stimulate the production of oil from the skin's oil glands. Acne occurs when these overactive oil glands become blocked, causing the oil to build up in the gland and swell. A bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes normally colonizes this swollen gland causing the development of inflammation and pus. In particularly severe cases, the glands may burst into the skin and produce cysts.

Acne blemishes are categorized into four grades, ranging from mild to very severe.Mild acne falls into this category. People with grade I acne generally have blackheads and whiteheads but pimples are not present. The condition is considered moderate acne when blackheads, whiteheads, and small pimples are present, but they are confined to the face and the inflammation they cause is minimal.

Severe acne includes blackheads, whiteheads, and deeper pimples with more pronounced swelling.acne is considered very severe when it occurs on the face, neck, shoulders, chest, and back. Pustules and deeper cysts occur with very severe acne and scarring may result if the condition is not cared for properly.

Preventing Acne ScarsThe most important rule for acne sufferers to remember is that you should never pick or squeeze acne blemishes. This can lead to the spread of acne and the development of acne scars. Instead, there are a number of herbal, homeopathic, and traditional formulas that can be used to treat acne and prevent the development of acne scars.

Herbs work naturally with the body to reduce acne blemishes and prevent the development of acne scars. Echinacea and poke root are often used for their anti-inflammatory properties and red clover may be beneficial for its estrogenic action. Witch hazel has excellent astringent properties and may be very effective on acne.

Stagnant of Chi in the channels of the face is said to be the cause of acne.Acupuncture performed on these points of the face may help relieve acne, and prevent the development of acne scars. In moderate to severe cases of acne, doctors may use surgery to open up the blemishes and remove blackheads and whiteheads.

Unlike medication treatments, the effects of acne surgery are usually more immediate. And surgery is also effective in reducing the development and visibility of acne scars.Acne can be a by-product of a filthy intestinal tract and colon. In most cases when the colon is clean the acne will go away. I recommend the intestinal cleanser Oxy-Powder.

Acne advice, information, documentation

affects more than 85 percent of teenagers but frequently continues into adulthood. Although there are more than 2 million visits to office-based physicians per year for patients in the age range of 15 to 19 years, the mean age at presentation for treatment is 24 years, with 10 percent of visits taking place when patients are between the ages of 35 and 44 years.

Patients evaluated at tertiary care centers are prone to depression, social withdrawal, anxiety, and anger and are more likely to be unemployed than persons without acne. Scarring can lead to lifelong problems in regard to self esteem. The direct cost of acne in the United States is estimated to exceed $1 billion per year, with $100 million spent on over-the-counter acne products. Classifying Acne (The severity of acne is generally assessed by the number, type, and distribution of lesions.):

Papules and pustules may be present but are small and few in number (generally <10).>Moderate Acne - numbers of papules and pustules (10-40) are present. Mild disease of the trunk may also be present. Erythematous papules and pustules are the predominant lesions, and disease is limited to the face.

Moderately Severe Acne - numerous papules and pustules are present (40-100), usually with many pimples (40-100) and occasional larger, deeper nodular inflamed lesions (up to 5). Widespread affected areas usually involve the face, chest, and back.Severe Acne Nodulocystic acne and acne conglobated with many large, painful nodular or pustular lesions are present, along with many smaller papules, pustules, and comedones.

Topical antimicrobial agents are effective in the treatment of inflammatory disease. Benzoyl peroxide is a bactericide and is an excellent first-line medication. The response to this agent is rapid, with improvement noted as early as five days after treatment has begun, but irritation is common.

Water-based products, as compared with alcohol based products, when used at low peroxide concentrations (2.5 to 5 percent) will help to limit this problem and have an efficacy similar to that of other products in this class. Benzoyl peroxide does not induce resistance; when used with topical or oral antibiotics, it protects against the development of this problem.

Oral antibiotics are indicated for moderate-to severe disease, for the treatment of acne on the chest, back, or shoulders, and in patients with inflammatory disease in whom topical combinations have failed or are not tolerated. After control of the acne is achieved and maintained for at least two months, a reduction in the dose can be attempted.

Hormonal treatment is especially useful in women who desire contraception or have other manifestations of hyperandrogenism, such as irregular menstrual cycles or hirsute. Oral antibiotics and topical therapy may be used in combination with hormonal treatments. When the use of this agent is being considered, an assessment of the severity of disease should include the effect of the acne on the patient, such as the potential for scarring.
